I believe there is a unique and powerful story of each one of us that deserves to be heard and validated. I’m committed to empathetic listening and providing a safe space that is filled with genuine curiosity, a non-judgemental stance and sometimes humour!
I work with women, children and youth struggling with anxiety, burn out, stress, relational and childhood trauma. In my work with children, I involve parents and caregivers with emotion coaching so they can be part of the healing journey of their loved one. My practice is culturally sensitive, trauma informed, and client centered and loaded with my extensive experience from both private practice and community settings. I follow an integrative approach drawing from CBT, DBT, Emotion Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy and Internal Family Systems.
When I’m not in sessions, I’m a busy mom to two young children, goofing around and making memories. To refuel myself, I travel, play string instruments, watch Netflix crime thrillers and of course indulge in food!!

Trauma

Parent Coaching
Parent coaching therapy, also known simply as parent coaching, is a type of therapeutic intervention designed to support and guide parents in developing effective parenting skills, managing challenging behaviors in their children, and promoting positive parent-child relationships.
Navigating the challenges of childhood and adolescence can be complex, and at Beyond Horizons, we specialize in providing compassionate and effective counselling
for children and adolescents dealing with anxiety and ADHD. Our mission is to foster a sense of self-confidence and emotional regulation, empowering young minds to thrive.
Burnout
Burnout is extreme exhaustion due to prolonged stress. This can be from work or things like parenting. We can help by teaching coping strategies, improving communication, setting realistic goals, and building resilience and offering personalized support for stress management.
Therapy can improve self-confidence and self- worth as we focus on past experience, challenging negative thoughts, practicing positive affirmations, setting realistic goals, learning assertiveness, fostering self-compassion, engaging in positive behaviors, and creating a supportive environment. Therapists use various approaches to empower individuals, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, or humanistic methods. The goal is to cultivate a more positive and realistic self-image.
During EMDR therapy sessions, the therapist guides the client to recall distressing memories while simultaneously engaging in bilateral stimulation, which can involve side-to-side eye movements, taps, or sounds.
This bilateral stimulation is thought to facilitate the processing of traumatic memories, allowing the individual to reprocess them in a way that reduces their emotional charge and associated distress.
DBT helps individuals manage intense emotions, improve interpersonal skills, and cope with distress through mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance techniques.
Kids (DBT-Kids) is a modified form of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy adapted for children and adolescents.
EFFT is a family therapy approach centered on recognizing and addressing emotions within the family dynamic.
It aims to improve communication, build emotional connections, and create a supportive environment by promoting emotion awareness, expression, validation, empathy building, and restructuring interactions.
In therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) looks at how our thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected.
It helps by identifying and changing negative thinking patterns that contribute to distress. It's a practical approach that focuses on developing new, healthier ways of thinking and coping with life's challenges.
Internal Family Systems
IFS therapy can be particularly effective for individuals dealing with emotional distress, trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.
IFS helps build self-awareness, emotional regulation, and inner harmony by fostering a compassionate and non-judgmental relationship with the diverse aspects of their inner world.
